Find out which SA beaches you can take in the festivities this New Year’s Eve.

On New Year’s Eve many of South Australia’s pristine beaches transform into a buzzing party as thousands of people flock to the coastline to watch firework displays.

Just remember though – We all play a role in keeping our beaches beautiful, so take all your rubbish with you and keep off sand dunes and native vegetation that are vital habitats for coastal wildlife.

Here’s our list of top beach spots to ring in the New Year.

Glenelg Beach
The ultimate go-to for NYE celebrations, Glenelg Beach offers a fantastic view of the fireworks launched from the jetty. Arrive early to grab a good spot, enjoy live music and soak up the buzzing vibe.

Brighton Beach
For a quieter location, Brighton Beach will have a family fireworks display at 9:30pm, synchronised with Glenelg’s.

Semaphore Beach
Semaphore has a more relaxed atmosphere making it perfect for families. The wide-open beach gives everyone plenty of room to enjoy the fireworks display without the hustle of bigger crowds.

Victor Harbor
Combine your NYE fireworks viewing with a day trip to Victor Harbor. With festivities often happening along the foreshore, it's a lively spot to welcome the new year.

Port Lincoln
Enjoy New Year’s Eve in the vibrant community of Port Lincoln. With Boston Bay as the backdrop, the fireworks create a dazzling display that light up the night sky and reflect in the water, adding to the magic of the celebration.

Port Pirie
Touted as having the best fireworks display outside of Adelaide, the Port Pirie New Year’s Eve party is a family-friendly event located at the Port Pirie foreshore and Solomontown Beach.

Robe
This charming coastal town and popular summer holiday destination doesn’t shy away from New Year’s celebrations. Gather with your family and friends around Guichen Bay to watch the spectacular fireworks display.

Port Broughton
At the family-friendly time of 9:30pm, head to the Port Broughton foreshore for a dazzling fireworks display.

Pro tip: Bring a picnic blanket, a thermos of tea or coffee and settle in early to claim the best views. Remember to check local event details as some beaches may have unique activities planned for the night.
