LASA is the peak advocacy and representative body for Landcare volunteers in the State.

The new funding will also be used run small grants to support Landcare groups with equipment and materials, and to create an insurance scheme for all Landcare groups to ensure they can work safely.

LASA Chairperson Sarah Barrett welcomed the much-needed support for grassroots landcare.

“This funding will directly benefit the grassroots Landcare community around South Australia by ensuring that they have access to the training, support, insurance and equipment that they need to carry out their important work,” Sarah said.

“Landcare has been a part of South Australian communities and landscapes for several decades, delivering critical revegetation, conservation, and sustainable land management projects. We are excited to revitalise the movement and provide renewed support to Landcare volunteers around the state.”
