Prescribed burn at Carey Gully

A prescribed burn is planned on private properties at Carey Gully on Friday 17 April weather conditions permitting.
The prescribed burn will start at12.00pmonFriday 17 April2020and should be completeby 5:00pm that day.
- The burn will impact an estimated 5.7 hectares of land across two private properties north of Boundary Drive, Carey Gully.
- This private land burn is proposed as part of a series of burns which aim to reduce the risk of bushfire impacting the community of Carey Gully and the dwellings along Boundary Drive.
The burn will be carried out by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). A crew will remain on site until it is safe to leave.
The objective of this burn is to reduce fuels in the area to prevent the spread of bushfire. It is part of a statewide program of prescribed burning planned to protect communities and assets at risk.
Prescribed burns will only be carried out when it is deemed safe to do so and may be cancelled at short notice.
