Prescribed burn in Coffin Bay National Park

A prescribed burn is planned in Coffin Bay National Park on Wednesday 22 April weather conditions permitting.
- The prescribed burn will start at 10.30am on Wednesday 22 April 2020 and should be complete by 9:00pmthat day.
- The burn will impact two hectares of land.
- The burn aims to remove fuels along a control line ahead of a main prescribed burn to be completed at a later date.
The burn will be carried out by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and the local CFS brigade has been invited to attend.
Smoke may be visible from the surrounding area. The entrance road to the park will remain open, however speed restrictions may be in place. A crew will remain on site until it is safe to leave.
Prescribed burns will only be carried out when it is deemed safe to do so and may be cancelled at short notice.
