Prescribed burn at Chain of Ponds

A prescribed burn is planned on private land at Chain of Ponds, in the Adelaide Mount Lofty Ranges, on Friday 8 November, weather conditions permitting.
- The burn will start at 11.00am on Friday 8 November and is likely to be completed by 5:00pm that afternoon.
- The area to be burnt is 5.9 hectares on private land along Adelaide Gully Road, Chain of Ponds, just south of Kersbrook.
- The burn is to reduce fuel loads along Adelaide Gully Road.
- No road closures will be in place.
- Adelaide Gully Road may be impacted by smoke.
- National Parks and Wildlife Service crews will remain on site until safe.
NPWSSA conducts a statewide program of prescribed burns to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires, protect communities and enhance biodiversity. Prescribed burning is just one tool used to reduce fuel loads across strategic areas of public and private land.
Prescribed burns will only be carried out when it is deemed safe to do so and may be cancelled at short notice.
