Prescribed burn at Crafers West

A prescribed burn is planned at Crafers West in the Mount Lofty Ranges on Wednesday, weather conditions permitting.
- The prescribed burn will start at 11.45am on Wednesday 11 December 2024 and is likely to be completed by 5pm.
- The area to be burnt is 1ha across two private properties on the northern side of Sheoak Road.
- This burn is part of a series of prescribed burns aiming to reduce the risk of bushfire impacting dwellings on Sheoak Road.
- No roads or trails will be closed during the burn.
- Sheoak Road may be impacted by smoke during the burn.
- National Parks and Wildlife Service crews will remain on site until safe.
NPWSSA conducts a statewide program of prescribed burns to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires, protect communities and enhance biodiversity. Prescribed burning is just one tool used to reduce fuel loads across strategic areas of public and private land.
