Prescribed burn at Cromer

A prescribed burn is planned on private land at Cromer, in the Adelaide Mount Lofty Ranges, on Friday 27 September, weather conditions permitting.
- The burn will start at 1.00pm on Friday 27 September and is likely to be completed by 7:00pm that evening.
- The area to be burnt is 8.1 hectares on a private property on Altman Road in Cromer, 5km northwest of Mount Pleasant.
- This burn aims to reduce the risk of bushfire impacting on numerous dwellings and properties along Altman Road.
- No roads will be closed.
- Altman Road may be impacted by smoke.
- National Parks and Wildlife Service crews will remain on site until safe.
NPWSSA conducts a statewide program of prescribed burns to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires, protect communities and enhance
biodiversity. Prescribed burning is just one tool used to reduce fuel loads across strategic areas of public and private land.
Prescribed burns will only be carried out when it is deemed safe to do so and may be cancelled at short notice.
