Prescribed burn at Heathfield

A prescribed burn is planned on private land at Heathfield, in the Adelaide Mount Lofty Ranges, on Tuesday 19 November, weather conditions permitting.
- The burn will start at 10.00am on Tuesday 19 November and is likely to be completed by 3:00pm that afternoon.
- The area to be burnt is 0.9 hectares on private land east of Longwood Road at Heathfield.
- This is part of a series of burns within this area with the aim of creating a strategic fuel-reduced zone to reduce the risk of bushfire spreading through the Heathfield and Longwood area and impacting on surrounding communities.
- No road closures will be in place.
- Logwood Road and Heather Road may be impacted by smoke.
- National Parks and Wildlife Service crews will remain on site until safe.
NPWSSA conducts a statewide program of prescribed burns to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires, protect communities and enhance biodiversity. Prescribed burning is just one tool used to reduce fuel loads across strategic areas of public and private land.
Prescribed burns will only be carried out when it is deemed safe to do so and may be cancelled at short notice.
