A prescribed burn is planned at Millbrook Reservoir Reserve on Thursday 21 March 2024, weather conditions permitting.
- The prescribed burn will start at 11.30am and is likely to be completed by 6pm on Thursday 21 March.
- The area to be burnt is 11.8 hectares on SA Water land at Millbrook Reservoir near Cudlee Creek.
- The objective of the burn is to create a fuel reduced zone adjacent to the Mannum to Adelaide pipeline and the Cudlee Creek Tavern and Caravan Park.
- No roads or trails will be closed.
- Tilmouth Road and Paracombe may be affected by smoke.
- National Parks and Wildlife Service crews will remain on site until safe.
NPWSSA conducts a statewide program of prescribed burns to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires, protect communities and enhances biodiversity. Prescribed burning is just one tool used to reduce fuel loads across strategic areas of public and private land.
Prescribed burns will only be carried out when it is deemed safe to do so and may be cancelled at short notice.
