Prescribed burn at Ngarkat Conservation Park

A prescribed burn is planned at Ngarkat Conservation Park, in the Murraylands, on Monday 6 May 2024, weather conditions permitting.
- The prescribed burn will start at 11am and is likely to be completed by 5pm the same day.
- The area to be burnt is 50 hectares within the park, about 40km south of Lameroo.
- This is a landscape protection burn to reduce the likelihood of the whole park burning in a single bushfire event
- Piggery Track will be closed throughout the burn.
- Smoke may be visible from Ngarkat Highway, Baan Hill Road and the Pertendi Campgrounds.
- National Parks and Wildlife Service crews will remain on site until safe.
