Christopher Brodie
Chris is the Weeds Botanist for the State Herbarium and is interested in the naturalised (also known as 'weed') flora of South Australia. He works closely with stakeholders, including Biosecurity SA, Landscape officers and other land managers, to identify, collect and document the naturalised flora of the state. Of importance is the early detection of new weed populations in South Australia. Early detection of new and emerging weed populations provides the greatest opportunity for land managers to eradicate or containment new weedy populations.
Chris is the point of contact for anyone with a suspected new weed species that requires confirmation or identification. He is also working on numerous weedy plant groups for the 5th edition of Flora of South Australia.
