South Australian Government engagement in COP29

South Australia at COP29

For nearly three decades, the United Nations (UN) has hosted global climate summits – called COPs – which stands for ‘Conference of the Parties’ to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The 29th COP (COP29) is being held in Baku, Azerbaijan between 11 and 22 November 2024.

World leaders, government representatives, businesses and citizens will attend COP29, which aims to accelerate action towards the climate change mitigation and adaptation goals of the 2015 Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

South Australia will send a delegation who will participate in a series of meetings and events to promote South Australia’s renewable energy credentials, showcase its leadership in renewable energy generation and green hydrogen development, and learn about best practice climate change solutions being delivered around the world.
