Senate Select Committee on the Murray-Darling Basin Plan
On 24 June 2015, the Federal Senate resolved to establish the Select Committee on the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. The committee is to inquire on the social, economic and environmental impacts of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan on regional communities.
The South Australian Government made a submission to the Senate Select Committee on the Murray-Darling Basin Plan, stressing that Basin governments must retain their commitment to work cooperatively to implement the Plan on time and in full.
The submission highlights the importance of a healthy River Murray for agriculture, domestic water supply, tourism, industry, the environment and recreation.

The final report of the Select Committee on the Murray-Darling Basin, was made available on 17 March 2016.
The South Australian Government will continue to reaffirm its commitment to delivery of the Basin Plan on time and in full.
