Infrastructure upgrades completed at Paringa Paddock in the Riverland this week are providing tourists and locals with an exciting new kayaking opportunity.

Several sites across the Riverland have been shortlisted for further investigation as part of a project to support and promote environmental outcomes across the Lock 3 Reach.

With the support of natural high flows currently in the River Murray, the Department for Environment and Water will commence environmental watering of the Chowilla, Pike and potentially Katarapko floodplains this month, through operation of environmental regulators.

A highly threatened fish, that grows no more than 8 centimetres in length, is returning to the Lower Murray in numbers not seen since the Millennium Drought.

For the second year straight South Australian River Murray water users will start the water year with 100 per cent of their allocation.
