Doug Fotheringham
Doug is an Honorary Research Associate with the State Herbarium. His interests are coastal plant communities including seagrasses. His work is associated with these communities.
Doug is currently looking at changes to mangrove and salt marsh communities on Torrens Island. The salt marshes were extensively surveyed in the 1980s. Due to combined land subsidence and sea level rise they have experienced the equivalent of up to a 15cm sea level rise since that time. Revisiting the 1980s survey sites will reveal how the communities have been affected.
