Water projects, plans and security
Water underpins our economy, environment and communities.
Water security is about having an acceptable quantity and quality of water for people and the environment that is affordable and sustainable.
We work with the water industry, government agencies, and communities to care for, plan for, and deliver water in South Australia. We also protect and improve water environments such as rivers, wetlands, and floodplains through targeted projects.
There are many past and present water projects that have been implemented across the state. Includes the Patawalonga South Gates Upgrade, Healthy Coorong Healthy Basin, Sustaining Riverland Environments, Great Artesian Basin Drought Resilience, Flows for the Future, and more.
South Australia’s water planning framework, drought statements, water security strategies, and water allocation plans.
Water legislation and policies
Acts, regulations, and policies oversee the many different aspects of water management in South Australia. Includes the Landscape South Australia Act, Water Industry Act, and River Murray Act.
