Our Coorong | Our Coast (2023)

Our Coorong | Our Coast was a $3.3 million project funded by the Australian Government’s Regional Land Partnerships initiative of the National Landcare Program, and the Limestone Coast Landscape Board.
This project helped improve the ecological character of the Coorong and enhanced habitat for threatened species along the Limestone Coast through works such as pest and weed control, developing site plans to protect migratory shorebirds, revegetation and monitoring.
It built and improved the resilience of the Coorong, much of which had been lost over time.
The Our Coorong | Our Coast project partnered with BirdLife Australia and Friends of Shorebirds SE to deliver meaningful, on-ground project outcomes, aimed at restoring habitat for threatened species in the Coorong.
The Healthy Coorong, Healthy Basin program complements the land-based work of Our Coorong | Our Coast through improving the health of the Coorong lagoons, particularly in the south, and the water-dependent ecosystems that rely on them.
