Emergency bulk water collection points
Three temporary, emergency bulk water collection points will be established in the Adelaide Hills from Thursday 6 March in response to unprecedented dry conditions and unmet water carting demands.
- Ridge Road (intersection of Jacaranda Drive), Woodside
- Koennecke Road, Sandergrove
- Peggy Buxton Road (opposite Brukunga CFS), Brukunga
Operational hours
SA Water will staff the emergency bulk water collection points from 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week. Operational hours may be adjusted in response to demand, as water use at these points will be monitored carefully.
Emergency supply only
These temporary bulk water collection points are intended to provide emergency supply to households for domestic purposes only. They are not intended for commercial livestock or watering gardens.
Required household information
When collecting water, households must provide:
- Name
- Address
- Phone number
- Signature
Bring your own disinfected food-grade container.
Photo identification is required to verify identity.
Important health advice
Water is of drinking quality at the point of collection, but you must use food-grade containers to keep it clean once it leaves the pipe. If disinfected food-grade containers are not used, the water will not be suitable for drinking.
Household water calculator
SA Water’s online calculator estimates household water consumption. There are also handy tips - such as shorter showers, turning off taps and efficient watering - that can help you save water.
Site selection and duration
These locations were chosen based on SA Water’s mains network capacity to safely supply water at the required rate and volume and for safe vehicle access. A fourth location in or near Aldinga is being considered for the southern Fleurieu.
