Water information and data
South Australia is the driest of the Australian states. Only about a fifth of our state receives annual precipitation of more than 250 mm.
Despite this, we have a range of water resources that we study and monitor to ensure the best management decisions are made. This is important to make sure we have enough water for the future, for both people and the environment.
River Management information and flow reports
Our dedicated section for information about the SA deferred water storage and delivery plan, River Murray flow and use in SA, and weekly updates on the River Murray.
Water resources and environments
The types of water resources in South Australia include stormwater, rivers and wetlands, reservoirs, groundwater, wastewater, desalination, South East Drainage Network, and managed aquifer recharge (MAR).
