The Water Industry Alliance (WIA)
A globally recognised hub of water expertise and research in South Australia, driving growth for its members and the state economy. The combination of research and development, consultancy, engineering, technology, manufacturing, education, operations and commercial know-how provides the members of the WIA a unique ability to offer proven, efficient and cost effective solutions, processes and equipment required by global markets.
National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training (NCGRT)
The NCGRT has a long-standing reputation as Australia’s leading groundwater training provider having trained more than 3,000 people in the last five years. Their courses and seminars deliver solutions to 21st century groundwater problems, and are presented by world class experts who are actively engaged in cutting edge research in Australia and around the globe.
The International Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management (ICE WaRM)
ICE WaRM offers leading water management training courses to Australian and international water-focused organisations.
The largest provider of vocational education and training in Australia with an extensive delivery network of campuses and learning centres. Offering a number of new specialisations in water operations, TAFE SA is the industry’s one stop shop for water operations training.
The Goyder Institute for Water Research
The Goyder Institute was established to ensure water policy in South Australia was underpinned by leading scientific advice and research. A partnership of the South Australian government with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation and three South Australian universities.

- Local councils have many water management activities including stormwater management, open space watering and community wastewater.
- Stormwater Management Authority plans the continued improvement of urban drainage systems.
- Brown Hill Keswick Creek Stormwater Project is a program of works designed to substantially reduce the number of properties affected by very large flood events.
- Green Adelaide surface water monitoring provides comprehensive water information for Adelaide’s waterways.
- Water Sensitive SA collates information on water sensitive activities as part of a capacity building program.
- Australian Water Association provides professional development and industry networking for the water sector.
- StormwaterSA promotes best practice stormwater management for metropolitan areas.
- Stormwater Australia links the interests of Australian stakeholders of the stormwater industry.
- Hydrological Society of South Australia promotes an interest in the science of hydrology and discussion of our State’s water resources, their management, conservation and use.
