In great news for South Australian River Murray irrigators, water allocations are projected to open at 100 percent for the 2022-23 water year.

The opening of the state’s reservoirs is the gift that keeps on giving for South Australians, with plans unveiled for two projects worth $6.6 million that will transform Myponga Reservoir into a never-seen-before Fleurieu Peninsula eco-tourism hotspot – providing a significant boost to the economy and creating local jobs.

Fish monitoring undertaken throughout November and December has shown a major breeding response from native fish in the River Murray with the largest numbers of golden perch (callop) larvae recorded in the last eight years.

Environmental watering at the Chowilla, Pike and Katarapko floodplains has come to an end after a successful four month period which has delivered many important ecological outcomes.
