Only two years after their original release, golden perch have thrived at Aroona Dam Sanctuary, near Leigh Creek in the Northern Flinders Ranges.

SA’s River Murray water users are reminded of their long-standing requirement to ensure they have not used more water than their available water allocation at any time and to submit meter readings to DEW at the end of each quarter.

The Department for Environment and Water has begun working with landholders in the Finniss, Tookayerta and Currency Creek catchments to ensure the long term sustainability of water resources as part of its Flows for the Future Program.

A relationship of collaboration and knowledge sharing is at the centre of a partnership between the First Peoples of the River Murray and Mallee Aboriginal Corporation (RMMAC) and the Department for Environment and Water (DEW).

With communities across the globe coming together to celebrate World Wetlands Day on Tuesday 2 February, an opportunity exists for South Australia’s River Murray community to take part – in person and online.
