There’s more good news today for South Australian River Murray irrigators with minimum water allocations rising yet again, this time to 50 per cent.

Water-based activities at South Australian reservoirs have taken another step forward with access to Warren, Bundaleer and South Para reservoirs expected in the coming months, and shoreline fishing to be allowed at Myponga in time for summer.

South Australian River Murray minimum water allocations for irrigators have risen to 38 per cent in the latest Water Allocation Statement issued Department for Environment and Water (DEW).

The South Australian Government used a peer review process for its Environmental Water Requirements (EWR) reports and all science that supported its Murray-Darling Basin Plan negotiations.

The minimum water allocations for South Australian River Murray irrigators in 2019-20 will increase to 31 per cent today thanks to recent water resource condition improvements.
